Tailored to homeowners interested in going solar, this free workshop will outline the fundamentals of solar electricity for residential systems. Learn how to reduce or eliminate your electric bill with clean power and find credible solar contractors in your area. .
Are you interested in technical discussions about Solar Thermal with one of the best minds in the business? If so, Skip’s Tips is the forum for you! This session will discuss ICS and Thermosyphon solar water heating systems. Skip Fralick, has over 30 years of experience in the Solar Thermal industry, and is currently the Solar Water Heating Energy Engineer at CCSE. He also sits on the Board of Directors at the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC), chairs the IAPMO Uniform Solar Energy Code Technical Committee, and is a LEED Accredited Professional and an AEE Certified Energy Manager. Skip’s passion is Solar Thermal, so if you have technical questions about this technology, come to CCSE for an informal chat with Skip and other industry stakeholders on December 7, 2011 from 6pm to 7:30pm. **Please note that this an advanced workshop intended for people with experience in Solar Thermal. New Solar Homes Partnership Training Workshops Friday, March 2, 2012 9AM – 3PM SDG&E Energy Innovation Center 4760 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. San Diego, CA 92117 This notice for the workshops is posted at: San Diego Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison will be conducting workshops on the New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP). This is an opportunity for all interested parties to learn more about the NSHP and recent changes to the program, the application process, and the NSHP online application tool.
The NSHP program is a ten—year, $$400 million solar program which provides incentives for the installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems on new, energy—efficient homes built in California's investor—owned electric service territories.
This workshop will be taught by NSHP staff and will include information on the following topics:
— NSHP Guidebook, Fourth Edition — Application and payment process, and required documents — Overview of the California Advanced Homes Program (CAHP) — NSHP energy efficiency requirements — NSHP Online Application Tool – submitting applications and payment claims electronically — NSHP CECPV calculator — NSHP application clinic (for in—person attendees by appointment only)
Who should attend:
— Solar Retailers and Installers — Homeowners, Builders / Developers — HERS Raters — Energy Consultants
We strongly encourage interested parties to attend NSHP training workshops in person.
For those who are unable to attend in person, WebEx online meeting services will be available.

This contractor and self—installer workshop is a pre—requisite for participation in the new CSI—Thermal incentive program. For contractors, it is MANDATORY that the business owner attend the workshop, and it is strongly recommended that the lead installer and rebate manager attend, as well. Contractors must hold an A ,B ,C—4, C—36, or C—46 license in order to be eligible for this program, and the business owner’s name must be identified on this license . This workshop will provide information on the CSI—Thermal Program requirements, such as the application process, incentive amounts, customer and equipment eligibility, and SRCC installation guidelines. Training on solar water heating system design and installation is not provided in this workshop.
